A little bit about me
I absolutely love life!
I am grateful for every opportunity that is presented to me and I love being challenged.
Whether those challenges are directly related to working with people in my role as a health/social based volunteer or student nurse, or if it’s as simple as being challenged by a new recipe.
But I haven’t always had this positive outlook on life.
I have been through the struggles of having a not so healthy relationship with food and I can honestly say that fueling my body with healthy food has changed my life!
Exercise was much the same for me. I grew up hating all sports and physical activity because I wasn’t good at it and I found it easier to be the person who refused to participate than to be the person who let the team down (and knowing high-school kids, end up getting teased).
Comparing myself to others was consistently bringing me down and lead me to make a LOT of poor choices to try and fit in.
Fast forward a few years and I have come to love living a healthy, active lifestyle. I am so passionate about helping people that I have become inspired to share what I love with others!
I mean this wholeheartedly and with every ounce of truth in me when I say I am so happy with the person that I am today, flaws and all.
This blog isn’t instructions on how to ‘be happy’ or to a way to impose my practices onto others. I simply want to share my journey, one blog post, recipe, yoga pose and dream at a time.
