It’s that time of year again! The time when people everywhere start saying ‘December? Already?!’ and have flashbacks of last years Christmas that literally feels like it was two months ago. The time of year when you get to see your family and usually have to deal with that one relative who always gets too festive and embarrasses themselves. Or worse, embarrasses you.
The time of year when you have to buy presents for people that you don’t really know so you don’t know what to get them and they end up with something super random like a towel from you. The time of year when there is more naughty food and alcohol than you could poke a stick at… the naughty food and alcohol that you’ve been so good at staying away from. This post is about said naughty food and alcohol.
I give you: How to enjoy the silly season without getting too silly.
The first thing I want to say on this topic is don’t be too hard on yourself. One day of indulging isn’t going to ruin your progress or majorly impact your health. It is totally okay to go a little over board, but you can still use these few little tips to make sure you don’t go so overboard that you never get back on board. Obviously if you’re not tempted by the sweets or alcohol then by all means, don’t have any, but if you’re worried about feeling like you’re missing out, here are my tips for you.
Christmas is about family. It’s about coming together, reflecting on the year that was and having some delicious food. It can be hard to stay healthy around this time of year, but these few little tips can help you stay on track as much as you can. Remember, you're only human. There's only so much you can do to avoid all the naughty-ness that comes out at this time of year (food and beverage related that is), so don't be too hard on yourself. I know I'll definitely be having a few too many cheese and crackers and I am totally okay with that.
I hope you have the most amazing Christmas my darlings. Stay safe, look out for each other and enjoy this festive season.
