I have been brewing my own kombucha for a few months now and have created this recipe which never fails me. This recipe will make 2 Litres and is super easy to follow.
2 Litres of water (filtered is ideal, boiled tap water is also fine)
4 organic tea bags (black or a combination of black and green)
¾ cup of sugar
1 cup of starter tea
Boil all the water and pour into your glass jar
Add the tea and allow to steep for 5-10 minutes
Remove tea bags and dissolve sugar in water, allow to cool to room temperature (can take a while so be patient)
Once cool, add your SCOBY to the mix and cover with paper towel or a tea-towel (needs to be breathable)
Wait 7-30 days, taste after 7 days and see how you like the flavor, once your taste buds are happy, voila! You have ready to drink, home-made kombucha. Otherwise, you can now flavor your kombucha however you like!
